Mission and Values

Therapy is never separate from political reality.

As multi-disciplinary therapists working toward mental and emotional well-being, we stand for the inalienable right of Palestinian self-determination and for the dignity, safety, and liberation of all oppressed peoples.

Mission

We join Palestinian Civil Society's call to action via the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions movement. Accordingly, we call for our professional communities to support the precepts of international law and to act in solidarity with Palestinians.

We denounce the violent impact of settler colonialism upon Palestinian mental and emotional well-being. We recognize that therapies are embedded in social and political structures, and that therapists have a responsibility to name and counter harm.

Values

Our work is rooted in Palestinian self-determination, interdependence, and the universal rights of all humans. We believe that ethical care requires clarity, courage, and a refusal to normalize oppression.

  • Self-determination We stand for the inalienable right of Palestinians to shape their own future.
  • Accountability We ask professional organizations to support anti-racist, pro-justice action.
  • Collective care We recognize that Palestinian struggles reverberate through families, communities, and systems worldwide.

International Law and Rights

Accordingly, we call on professional communities to support the precepts of international law, including the following obligations:

  • End occupation and colonization. End the occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantle the Wall.
  • Guarantee full equality. Recognize the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality.
  • Uphold the right of return. Respect, protect, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.

Our Position

We support diverse forms of Palestinian resistance, including armed resistance, as per international law, in pursuit of the universal rights of all humans. We call for an end to genocidal violence and for professional spaces that protect, support, and encourage politicized therapists who take pro-Palestinian stances.

MANDATE

Work with professional organizations to pass solidarity statements and BDS motions, and to include anti-Palestinian racism under DEI initiatives.
